The Best Evidence is in Black and White
The Best Evidence is in Black and White is a photo-based installation in which I explored the six most hurtful
things that have ever been said to me, which I have carried with me all my life. This project has been misconstrued
as revenge, which it is not. It is more about autobiography and exorcism. It is about me, not them. I am currently
on good terms with several of these people, but that does not change the pain of the words.
For each statement, I included a direct transcript of the exchange, a relic of the person, and a small
display of old
photographs of the offender, several showing interaction between myself and them.
This series is presented here with a Full Picture first, Details second, and the transcripts third.
